So this is my IT and design project in this semester, which is about making my very first digital illustration using Affinity Designer software. On this occasion, I had a special task to create a digital self-portrait illustration based on my own body, face, and personal style. What makes this project even more interesting is that I created it live during a design event, where I had the opportunity to learn, practice, and share ideas directly with other students and creators who are also passionate about digital art.

In this illustration, I focused on several key details to make sure the artwork truly represents who I am. First, I drew the outline of my body and face using the Pen Tool in Affinity, which allowed me to control the precision of every single line. Next, I spent a lot of time adjusting my hair style, my favorite outfit, and my typical posture to capture my daily character. After the line art was ready, I chose a warm color palette and applied subtle shadows and highlights to give the illustration more depth and a modern 2D look.

Throughout the process at the event, I faced a few challenges, such as choosing the right skin tone and making sure the line art looked clean and neat. But thanks to the mentors and friends at the event, I received a lot of useful feedback and tips on how to use Affinity tools more efficiently. I learned how to manage layers properly, use clipping masks for shading, and export high-quality images for digital portfolios or website displays.
